ANALYSE COMPARATIVE DES ACTIVITÉS ET CONTENUS DES OUVRAGES SCOLAIRES QUÉBÉCOIS D’HISTOIRE GÉNÉRALE RELATIFS AUX CAUSES DE L’ÉVOLUTION DÉMOCRATIQUE
Abstract

This article presents the results of a qualitative exploratory research, analyzing the contents of 11 Quebec general history school manuals (second year of general education in secondary school), which have been published and approved since the program was adopted in 1982. The article adheres to a critical social‐constructrivist vision of the pedagogical intervention. It describes the attributes of learning activities relevant to the causes of democratic evolution, which are supposed to influence political motivation. It also shows that these works offer little in terms of tools to mitigate the factors of the so‐called political fatigue and bring about a transfer of relevant skills, despite the government’s lack of firm commitment, and discusses the didactic implications of this analysis.
