Abstract

Playing It Straight by Mindy Blaise is a book which helps the readers encourage to think beyond the child developmental theories. She has highlighted how different social factors play a role in the daily lives of children. This book targets people working in Early Childcare settings, parents, feminist and queer theorists. This book is an easy read and provides real-life conversation examples with children to support the author's idea. In this paper, i also mentioned the practical techniques which can be used by the teachers to include gender in their daily classroom setting, which otherwise seems a daunting task.
