International Journal of Geoinformatics presents Issue Number 7 of Volume 20. This issue features three papers focused on site suitability using a multi-criteria approach. This highlights the potential of GIS for decision-making based on expert input, multi-criteria analysis, and robust scientific modeling. Identifying suitable locations for bridges and roads in mountainous terrain is especially challenging but crucial for developing surface transportation infrastructure to support economic growth for all.

Another paper from Papua New Guinea addresses the complexities of solid waste disposal site selection through a multi-criteria framework. A study from Pakistan concentrates on the critical issue of groundwater recharge zone identification using the Analytical Hierarchy Process. The results are compelling, and the methodologies can be applied to other regions. However, researchers should also consider the potential future impacts of these sites through further GIS modeling to assess their positive or negative consequences.

One researcher presents a novel approach to near-shore bathymetry using cloud-based machine learning. This innovative method promises higher accuracy compared to traditional parametric models. An additional study employs satellite remote sensing data in Google Earth Engine to assess post-harvest crop biomass and carbon stocks.

Water resources face global challenges, particularly in arid regions. A study from Jordan included in this issue models climate variations and their impacts on water resource vulnerability.

A case study from Khon Kaen, Thailand, conducts a rigorous analysis of traffic behavior and accident hotspots using time-series data from 2012 to 2022.

Geriatrics is a growing research area due to aging populations worldwide, including Thailand. A research team has developed a mobile app to enhance the quality of life for elderly individuals by providing accessible healthcare services. We encourage readers to collaborate with the authors to adapt this app for their respective countries.
