Abstract

A research aircraft was purchased and instrumented to intensify long standing activities in atmospheric boundary layer research... The aircraft has been used successfully during several field studies: for measuring vertical energy fluxes down to about 15 m above ground or water using the eddy correlation method, for vertical soundings of meteorological parameters, for estimates of evaporation from tidal flats, for studies of the sea-breeze circulation and for the structure of convection over land..
