Focus and Scope

OSTIV Publications contain papers presented at OSTIV Congresses from 1950 to 1985 that were published in Swiss Aero Revue and, since 1986, in the quarterly issues of Technical Soaring.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

OSTIV Publications contains all papers presented at OSTIV Congresses and published in the periodicals of Swiss Aero Revue between 1950 and 1985. Since 1986, these papers were published in Technical Soaring.

The first OSTIV Congress, 1948 at Samedan, Switzerland, and the second, 1949 at Paris, France, were not documented in an official publication. The tenth OSTIV Congress, 1965 at South Cerney, England, had two OSTIV Publications, VIII and IX.

After the forteenth OSTIV Congress, 1985 in Rieti, Italy, and its Publication XVIII, the series of OSTIV Publications ended. In 1986 Technical Soaring, edited by the Soaring Society of America (SSA), took over the publication of OSTIV articles as the official OSTIV journal. In 2006, with the publication of Vol. 27 this cooperation ended, and starting with Vol. 28 OSTIV commenced editing and publishing Technical Soaring.
