Abstract
A line of low level wind shear was investigated in an instrumented glider during the afternoon of 11 September 1971...in southern England.... A marked frontal convergergence developed with a slope of about 30 degrees and a line of ascending air with a mean vertical velocity of more then 1 m/s was measured over a 10 km run.
