Focus and Scope

Advances in Business Research is published by the Tarleton State University College of Business. We aim to further the research boundaries of business and business education in all of the related disciplines. Advances in Business Research is a research journal that provides a forum for theory-based empirical studies in all fields of business, including accounting, economics, finance, international business, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other related fields. 

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to this journal will be subject to a double-blind peer review process. Generally, this involves at least two reviewers. Reviews and editorial decisions will be returned to authors within three months.

Those interested in reviewing for the journal may register on this website and complete the reviewer form, indicating areas of interest. Quality reviewers are an important part of the journal's academic process.

Publication Frequency

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Therefore, accepted and proofed articles will be published as soon as they are ready by adding them to the current volume's Table of Contents.

Journal History

Advances in Business Research is a research journal that provides a forum for current thoughts, techniques, theories, issues, trends, and innovations in the business fields, including accounting, economics, finance, international business, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other related fields.

Advances in Business Research was initially published by the College of Business at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in 2010. The founding editor was Mohamed Zainuba, Associate Professor of Management, who edited the journal from 2010 through 2013. Beginning in 2014, Amelia Annette Baldwin, Neal Pendergraft Professor of Accounting, was the managing editor.

In 2014 the journal was moved to a complete online and open-access journal with all functions of the journal (submission, reviewing, editing, reading, subscription, etc.) provided online.

In 2018, Tarleton State University College of Business joined with the College of Business at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith to jointly publish the journal with Brian Martinson, Assistant Professor and Assistant Chair of the Department of Management at Tarleton State University, serving as the managing editor.

Since 2020, Tarleton State University College of Business is the publisher of the Advances in Business Research journal. 

All manuscripts submitted to this journal will be subject to a double-blind peer review process. All manuscripts submitted should be original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must be submitted online via the journal website at journals.sfu.ca/abr. The journal is listed in Cabell Directories and the U.S. Library of Congress.
