Abstract

The need for a perforrnance testing technique which is less time consuming and less dependent on perfect weather is already rather well known. This paper gives a brief discussion of the working principle and refers to the first test results of a measuring probe making use of two servo acceleroneters and incorporating automatic upwash compensation. Practically it is an angle of glide measuring system capable of working both in steady straight and in circling flight. The first test results seem to be encouraging us to continue the research; particularly favorable are the good repeatability and the short test flight time required.
