Call for Papers: Stream Volume 7, Issue 1

Call For Papers: Stream: Culture/Politics/Technology Vol 7, No 1 (2015)

Stream, the Graduate Journal of the School of Communication at Simon Fraser University, invites submissions for our upcoming issue from emerging scholars of communication, and from those in cognate fields. Our peer-reviewed journal focuses on the publication of working papers and interim research findings.

Volume 7, Issue 1 of Stream, publication of which is anticipated for Spring 2015, is to be compiled based on an open call for papers. While broadly focused on three often-overlapping “streams†of concentration in the study of communication - culture, politics, and technology - Stream adopts a pluralistic and openly eclectic editorial policy with regard to conceptual and methodological approaches to the study of communication and media. In this spirit we welcome papers that address the wide range of themes and topics spanning the field of Communication Studies; we are similarly open to papers that extend our disciplinary horizons.

Within the context of the general call outlined above, the editors welcome both individual contributions on any relevant subject and proposals for multiple contributions with a defined thematic affinity for inclusion in the upcoming issue.

Submission guidelines: As per Stream’s author guidelines, academic articles should be approximately 5 to 20 pages in length and follow APA standards. Contributions should offer a unique, if developing, contribution to academic knowledge. Students are especially encouraged to submit revised chapters from their theses. In order to be considered for publication, the article should be in an advanced editing stage with minor errors if any. Articles with significant grammatical, typographical or citation errors may be returned to authors for correction prior to being sent out for peer review.

Those wishing to submit papers for this issue should forward statements of interest and/or complete papers, via email, to Mike Mowbray (mike_mowbray@sfu.ca).

Submissions of statements of interest will be open until December 8th, 2014. Completed contributions will be required by January 14th, 2015 for inclusion in this issue.
