Abstract

Sitting posture can have a significant effect on an individual’s health. Machine
learning can be used to assess the "healthiness" of a given sitting posture. A target equation was conceived and applied with input data into a neural network learning algorithm. The resulting trained neural network was successful in assessing the healthiness of the sitting postures of four hypothetical cases. The neural network design brings us one step closer to an artificially intelligent chair that can alert users if their sitting postures are unhealthy.
