Abstract

In my experience, though online courses are somewhat different from face-to-face instruction, they are just as effective in advancing course learning outcomes. A key reason is that I have discovered ways to enable students to create relevancy for their own contexts from the online course content.
Constructivist learning theory has helped us understand that adults learn best when they can connect content to their own life or work.
