Abstract

In recent years the practice of CPE supervision has widened to include more adult education theory than previously. One of the current adult education theories gaining traction in supervisory practice is that of transformative learning theory. This article will review the basic texts of the theory as they relate to the CPE process, then discuss some of the nuances of the theory, and finally explore how the imagination thickens the clinical learning process.
