Abstract

This paper focuses on applying a systematic approach to the generalisation of a road network database using a dynamic generalisation approach through an evaluation of DynaGenTM generalisation capabilities. It is used as a testbed based on the principles of generalisation. It then compares the results derived from DynaGenTM with an earlier work with ArcGISTM road generalisation results. It also includes details of the functionality of each process which, combined with human interaction, involves resetting the rules and numerical parameters to achieve the desired results.
