Abstract

This research aims to shed light on the growing phenomenon professional integration of foreign-trained teachers in Quebec school. We invited 12 of them to an individual interview to understand the specifics of their integration process. An inductive analysis attentive to biographical paths and work interactions has led to identify four types of integration process: identification, accommodation, recomposition and submission. Shedding light on these processes shows the disparities between their respective re-socialization contexts of their to the profession.

Joëlle Morrissette, Montreal's University

Joëlle Morrissette is an associate professor at Montreal's University Faculty of Education, current president of Qualitative Research association (ARQ) and member of the Center for Interuniversity Research on Training and the Teaching Profession (CRIFPE). Since the beginning of her career, she has worked on the development of qualitative methodologies, having organized several scientific events and assumed different editorial directions in this perspective. Her latest research focuses on foreign-trained teacher's integration in Quebec schools.

Annie Malo, Montreal's University

Annie Malo is an associate professor at the Montreal's University (Quebec, Canada). Currently, she is the Center for Initial Teacher Training'director (CFIM).
She is a member of the Interuniversity Research Center on Training and the Teaching Profession (CRIFPE), as well as a member of the board of directors of the Association for Qualitative Research (ARQ). She has published on professional knowledge development of of teaching trainees, on reflective practice and on teacher training.
