Special Edition Published: ICLELT Proceedings

We have just published a special edition of the Proceedings from the November 2016 ICLELT conference in Abu Dhabi. Below is a quote from the Chairman (Dr. Aymen ElSheikh) and the other editors:

It is with great pleasure we introduce you to the Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Literature and English Language Teaching (ICLELT) which took place on November 18 – 19, 2016 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The ICLELT is an initiative of an international forum which aims to bring together scholars and practitioners from the fields of literature, English language teaching (ELT), and applied linguistics in order to engage in thought-provoking debates to advance our knowledge and understanding of these important areas as we approach the third decade of the 21st century. The conference featured more than 50 presentations from around the world, which gave it a truly international flavor not only in terms of speakers but also the breadth and scope of the diverse topics discussed.

ICLETL Conference, NYIT, Abu Dhabi Campus

Please submit your abstracts here.

The conference organizers are particularly interested in new and emerging perspectives in the areas of both ELT and literature. The  overarching theme of the literature strand is the diverse ways in which Arabia has been perceived by writers through the centuries and particularly asks the question whether portrayals of Arabia in literature are being reshaped at the present time. However, all thought-provoking abstracts are welcomed as long as they have a wide appeal to a world literature audience.
