Analyse des politiques d'évaluation de l'enseignement des universités canadiennes

Abstract

In our research, we studied Canada's universities institutional policies regarding evaluation, in order to get an overall and unprecedented description of those policies. For each Canadian university, we analysed one or more of the following official documents available: collective agreement, faculty promotion guidelines and official report on the evaluation of teaching. Results show that all Canadian universities use teaching evaluation for administrative purposes. Students are the main source of information. The course questionnaire is the most used instrument although peer review, written reports and interviews of faculty are complementary sources often mentioned in Canadian universities policies. Differences in policy are evident between francophone and anglophone institutions as well as between eastern and western universities.
